In my experience, I have found the following things to be most helpful:
1. Reduce stress by exercising (I recommend at least 30 minutes every day), by using mind-body practices, or by focusing on relaxation techniques (you can even find relaxation techniques for less stress and stress management). 2. Increase the activity of your immune system, and increase your natural resistance to illness. I suggest doing some of the exercises below, but feel free to experiment with them to see which one works best for you. 3. Increase your ability to cope with stress and the potential for mental illness. If you're already experiencing some symptoms of mental illness, try to get help right away to find out which treatments and medications are working for you. If you feel a particular treatment, such as meditation or cognitive-behavioral therapy, is best for you, you can try it right now. 3. Decrease your risk of developing depression or other mental illness. I'm going to be blunt, I don't think this is something that can be easily addressed by people who already have depression. As I understand it, the symptoms of depression are very much similar to the symptoms of anxiety, so it may be more difficult for you to feel anxiety than depression.
